Upon returning to Alabama he was the creative force behind Public Television’s winning 6 Regional Emmy Awards from the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. W. David Sears, Jr. has produced for #1 rated television and radio programs in a Top 50 ADI Neilson market.

Wallace Sears is an Alabama native who has been involved in the broadcasting and film industry for over 40 years.

A graduate of the University of Alabama with a BA in Mass Communications, he worked for eight years writing, reporting and anchoring newscasts at WSFA-TV, in Montgomery. His programs were among the top rated for viewers in the market.

For 16 years he worked with the Walt Disney Company in Lake Buena Vista, Florida writing for the animated film unit, and producing programming shown in the theme parks and on national television. He supervised editorial news photo coverage and worked with visiting photographers and writers for Time, Newsweek, Southern Living, Fortune, Forbes, National Geographic Traveler, and numerous newspapers, magazines and TV entities.

He was involved in the grand opening of Epcot Center, the Disney-MGM Studios, hotels and resort facilities. He also was a key manager in the events and activities surrounding the world premier of “Dick Tracy”, starring Warren Beatty, Madonna and Dustin Hoffman and the grand opening of EuroDisney.

In 1996 Wallace returned home to Alabama, founding a publishing company with contracts for the NFL, NCAA, U.S. Olympic Committee, and the International Olympic Committee. He also was the official publisher for the Masters commemorative book for Augusta National Golf Course.

Previously, Wallace was the Vice President of Creative Media and Marketing for Alabama Public Television winning six Regional Emmy Awards.

Aretha Franklin cut her first Gold Record in Muscle Shoals.

Bob Dylan cut his first Grammy-winning Record in Muscle Shoals.

Lynyrd Skynyrd started their recording career in Muscle Shoals, Alabama which is documented in their hit “Sweet Home Alabama” paying tribute to the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section — or “Swampers”.

AND….the Rolling Stones’ first American Recording Studio was in Muscle Shoals, Alabama — where they recorded “Brown Sugar”, “Wild Horses” and “You Better Move”.
